Sounds super cool, yep... This isn't intended as a rant, but the Byzantine scale is still a Western music scale...Middle Eastern scales are much more complicated. What we in the West think of what Middle Eastern music is is more accurately described as Orientalist, what Western ears think Middle Eastern music is "supposed" to sound like, which isn't bad..I love 18th, 19th and 20th century Orientalist art and music... Interesting to note this scalecalso goes by the name Surf Rock Exotic Scale and Arabic Scale (though I would contend this name was given to it by Orientalists and not any Arabic schools of music) At the end of the day it is a fun scale to noodle around with!!
